Ellora Darshan Tour Itinerary for 1 Day

Morning Pick-up from your location at Aurangabad

Our driver partner will pick you up from your desired location in the city at a convenient time (around 8:00 AM is ideal) to begin the journey promptly.

1. Daulatabad Fort (Devgiri Fort)

Head first to this formidable hilltop fortress. The drive is short from Aurangabad (approx. 20 km, 30 minutes drive). Arrive early to explore the climb to the top before the sun gets too hot. It is recommended to spend at least 1.5 to 2 hours here.

2. Ellora Caves Exploration

After exploring the fort, drive to the world-renowned Ellora Caves complex (a UNESCO World Heritage site), located just about 13 km from Daulatabad Fort. Spend significant time here, particularly marvelling at the monolithic Kailasa Temple (Cave 16) and exploring the various Buddhist, Hindu, and Jain caves.

Important Note: The Ellora Caves are closed on Tuesdays.

3. Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga Temple

Next, head to the sacred Grishneshwar Temple at Verul, which is less than 1 km from the Ellora Caves entrance. This is the twelfth revered Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva.

4. Bhadra Maruti Temple

The final stop is the Bhadra Maruti Temple in Khuldabad, which is about 5 km from the Grishneshwar Temple. This is a unique temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman in a reclining (sleeping) posture.

Evening Return & Drop-off
